Using environments

Environments let you get up and running quickly by coming with pre-installed drivers and software.

Starting an environment

Environments are started by running them on an instance. For this, find your desired environment and click Run instance.

Stopping an environment

An environment can be stopped to resume at a later time. To do this, simply click stop on the instance without destroying the environment.

Note, when you do this you lose all unsaved data. Stopped environments cost $0.05 per GB/month.

Destroying an environment

If you do not need the environment anymore, you can select the destroy option when stopping the environment.

Doing so permanently deletes all data.

Upgrading or downgrading an environment

If you need more or less compute power you can change the instance on your environment. To do this, simply open the environment and choose the change instance option.
